Day 1 We
arrive in bustling Toronto and we are transferred to our hotel for the
night.
Day 2 Depart Toronto
by motor coach for the Niagara Peninsula. The Niagara district of Canada
cradles one of the world's natural wonders, Niagara Falls. We have time to board
the "Maid of the Mist" to view both the American and Canadian sides of
the falls. This afternoon we have time to stroll through the parks lining
the Niagara River en route to our hotel. Learn of the many brave souls who
have chosen to ride the St. Lawrence River over the falls and learn of the day
to falls stopped flowing! Overnight Toronto.
Day 3 Our
memorable train journey begins (Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday)! Transfer to Union Station
(downtown) for our departure aboard the "VIA Rail
Transcontinental" bound for Pacific Canada. Our first class rail
cars are refurbished to the 1950's genre in Art Deco. The observation dome
offers unequalled views as we roll across the Appalachian Shield of Ontario.
There are no fewer than a hundred thousand lakes in each of the three provinces
we will traverse. The private bedrooms are comfortable and all meals are included.

Day 4 Each day is a culinary delight as all meals are included. We
pass sparkling lakes and boreal forests as we roll into Manitoba. Drink in the
vast vistas from the dome cars and enjoy the
terrific and Canada-friendly on-board service. We roll into the
city Winnipeg in the early morning and then continue across the golden landscape.
This evening let the train gently rock you to sleep after a nightcap or coffee
in the Dome Car. 
Day 5 Relax as we forge across the great wheatfields of Saskatchewan
before our morning arrival into Edmonton, capital and most popular city in Alberta.
After a brief stop we continue the train journey to the "Jewel of the
Canadian Rockies" Jasper, Alberta. Disembark and transfer to our
hotel. 
Day 6
This
morning we tour JASPER
and, above the townsite, beautiful PYRAMID
LAKE. Perhaps take an optional
cruise of magnificent MALIGNE
LAKE and its incredible aquamarine waters.
The views are stunning and the water is a shade of blue found only in
these mountains. Spirit Island is a famous spot for
photographers seeking the perfect picture. Return to Jasper via the
Valley of the FIVE
LAKES. Those staying
for additional nights can travel on their own a few miles to the south of
Jasper to the JASPER
GONDOLA from where the views of the valleys and
peaks are outstanding. Perhaps visit ATHABASCA
FALLS and
the little hidden gem that is called HORSESHOE
LAKE.
Day 7 Depart Jasper for
Banff on our deluxe motor coach. En route we
stop at the Columbia Icefields which are the headwaters of the North
Saskatchewan and two other rivers that flow to three oceans! Ride a snow-coach out onto the 1,000 foot
blue-iced glacier. The Icefields Parkway delivers us south to Lake Louise, one of
the most beautiful spots on earth. We see the reflections the mountains in
her aqua blue waters and we'll solve the great mystery of how the waters retain their
hypnotic hue of blue. Arrive in Banff for overnight. We'll sleep
well in the crisp, fresh mountain air.
Day 8 Join us on an afternoon
jaunt up
SULFUR
MOUNTAIN
by gondola.
The views will take your breath away. In the evening we can enjoy an
optional cruise on
LAKE
MINNEWANKA, followed by a lively and fun western
barbeque.
Day 9 Depart for Kamloops by motor coach in the sunny Okanagan via Kicking
Horse Pass. Pass over the Continental Divide and begin our slow downhill
descent to the Pacific Ocean. We arrive in the late afternoon.
Day 10 We scoot along the shores of Kamloops Lake and then shadow the
mighty Frasier River to Hell's Gate Canyon. Roll into
VANCOUVER where our
tour includes Gastown, Chinatown, the harbor area and the famous Totem Poles at Stanley Park.
Day 11-12 We
have two full days to explore on our own. Shop and visit this beautiful
city or perhaps
see Grouse Mountain and the nearby Capilano Suspension Bridge, rent a bike and
ride around the seawall of Stanley Park or see the city's Museum of
Anthropology. Shopper's can take a water taxi to the artist's mecca of
Granville Island. Tours (not included in price) are available from our hotel to Vancouver
Island and one
of the most regal "British" cities anywhere. Victoria is
fascinating and BUTCHART
GARDENS is world famous for its breathtaking profusion
of millions of flowers and waterfall.
Day 13
We are transferred to
Vancouver International Airport for the flight home. Perhaps consider
adding an Alaska cruise to your holiday. The cruise ship port is right
downtown.
